Directors

David HuntDirector
“I joined Badger Press as a printer when the company was formed in 1984. Things have changed quite a lot over the years and the challenge of providing new and relevant services to our clients keeps me motivated. Out of work I enjoy walking, swimming, cycling and golf as well as a few beers on a Friday night!”
Denis BlandDirector
“I left School at 15 and went “down ‘t pit” to earn my board and lodgings (six years apprenticeship at Westmorland Gazette) and have remained in the trade ever since. I used to be a fell runner, but I’m alright now, preferring the more gentle hobby of Amateur Dramatics (some say I’m always acting!).”

The Office

Carole WalkerOffice Manager
Carole originally joined Badger Press in 1995 just to answer the telephones at lunch time. She has, in her own words, ‘taken over the office’ and is our Office Manager. She enjoys spending her time with family and friends or chilling out with a good book and a large glass of wine.
Andrew TomkinsonMarketing Manager
After working on a strategic planning project for Badger Press in 2012, Andrew joined the company as Marketing Manager in 2013 to provide strategic direction and help clients with web and marketing projects. He enjoys reading, walking, photography, wild swimming, snowboarding, classical guitar, piano, log fires and sloe gin.
Pauline HuntBusiness Development Manager
Pauline is responsible for business development and helps potential clients find out how Badger Press can help their business. She enjoys cycling, walking, cookery and travelling in her camper van.

The Studio

Rob CryerGraphic Designer
and Printer
Rob is a graphic designer and printer.

After taking an early retirement from pies, beer and sports, Rob loves to run around after his wife, kids, friends and family. Cinema trips and duvet days watching films with the kids are high on the agenda, as is keeping his camera nearby to catch those lasting memories – providing he’s not on the other side of the camera (in case it breaks, he says).

David JacksonGraphic Designer
and Illustrator
“I joined Badger Press in 1988 and have done all sorts of design work, with illustration and drawing being my thing – I’ve never looked back! I do like my music and play in a Drum Circle; if you can listen to it we can play to it – it’s infectious! ‘Modding’ and customising electrical stuff is another passion. I also paint and draw at home, more recently I digitally paint my Creative Photo Panels that take inspiration from the Borrowdale Valley – a favourite walking place I go to with my partner, taking in a tearoom or two on the way!”
Steve BlamireGraphic Designer
and Web Designer
“My daily routine ranges from web design to direct mailers, bookwork to timetables and everything inbetween. My passions range from cupcakes, cabbages and camellias to photography, potatoes and physalis – from Clive Cussler and Eurythmics to Vivaldi and Gershwin – simply because of galaxy chocolate.”
Nick GledhillGraphic Designer
and Photographer
After qualifying from college in 1986, Nick was contacted by Badger Press after previously having completed a successful work placement and was asked to join the team. His average day includes working on a diverse range of projects. From designing full corporate identities, to photography of in and around the Lakes, all aspects of design and print are covered in his daily work. His interests include photography, fell walking, reading and travel with many trips with his wife in their VW Camper throughout the UK and abroad. He has also been known to enjoy a bottle (or two) of full bodied red!
